Swish Blog Playlist Mix 07-10-05

October 07, 2005

I first tried to do this Swish Mix last Wednesday, but at the song choosing stage I realised all I had listened to in the past week was the new McFly and Test Icicles albums; so I shelved a new mix until today - giving myself enough time to do some serious listening (whilst of course still getting enough McFly and Test Icicles into my system... seriously, I'm obsessed).

Another winner, thanks for doing these Chris. What do you use to make them, btw?

Hi Palmer, I use cool edit mostly - it's a pretty old program now and I think it's been bought up by Macromedia... sometimes I use Acoustica Mixcraft (when I use a different computer, which does the same job, but not as well)... I'd recommend Cool Edit.

Mmmm! I always thought it was a real-time mixing thing. ;) Anyway... This reminds me... I once made a playlist mix thingy myself. This lovely guy from the Trash Board uploaded it to his website, and I think it's still there.

It has a small selection of Dutch music and three acts from Belgium. It jumps up and down from garage rock'n'roll, nazi electro, gay rock, Arnhem lo-fi to vive la Belgium. :)

And it's a real-time mix. ;)

cheers johnny-dis, i'm very grateful for the comments; keep coming back for more mixes and stuff.

This used to be just an mp3 blog, but it was becoming too hard to post 2 or three times a week - finding the time to write about 6 or 7 songs I was enjoying that week - so i changed it to this playlist mix format. 15 songs to listen to, hardly any commentry; it's easy content for me. lol.

*even if some ladies of the Dutch pursuasion think i'm lame for not doing real-time mixing.*

Mmm! Apparently my mix mp3 (see above) is just 18 minutes. Ah well... Better luck next time and I might even try to mix it with Cool Edit/Soundforge/Mixmeister or whatever is on my PC.

Request for SB's next playlist mix: http://huizen.dds.nl/~zea/music/clocks.mp3 :)
